Show Cedar City Students In Leadership Positions at U cf U Three Cedar City natives have been named to leadership positions posi-tions at one of the University of Utah's residence halls. They are Jack Lunt, senior; Barry Peters, freshman; and Sheldon Harris, sophomore. Jack, a son of Mrs. Mary Lunt, McArthur Ave., Cedar City, is a secretary treasurer at Austin Residence Res-idence Hall. He is attending the U on a scholarship and plans to enter law school after receiving his B. S. degree in political Science Sci-ence this summer. A 10G2 graduate of Cedar City High School, Jack was active in the Key Club, business manager ; of the yearbook "Cedarian", and was a Model United Nations participant. par-ticipant. Barry Peters, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Peters, 246 Highland Drive, Cedar City, is a new Austin Aus-tin Hall publicity chairman. He is majoring in art. He selected Utah because of the numerous art galleries in Salt Lake City and the excellent teaching staff. Sheldon Harris, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Rex E. Harris, 427 Cir- cleway Drive, Cedar City, served as a Unit Council secretary-treasurer during fall quarter and is now a publications chairman. Sheldon says "dorm life helps develop a feeling of belonging. Many strong ties are developed between students through residence resi-dence hall activities." He says "the high academic standards at the U offer more challenges and opportunities for the student to grow and develop his personality." Sheldon was student body president pres-ident at Cedar City High, member mem-ber of the Key Club and Tennis Club, sports editor of the yearbook year-book staff and Junior Prom chairman. |
