These students participated in the Speech and Drama Festival at Dixie College last week. Seated are: Carla Dalley, Heidi Hansen and Janice Thompson. "The Marriage Proposal," Cedar Cedar High School received sec-' ond place in the Region Uight Speech and Drama Festival held at St. George April 1. Twenty stu- iligh's one-act play, was one of the two chosen from the Regional meet to be presented at the State meet which will be held at Brig-ham Brig-ham Young Univrsity on April 8 and 9. The play stars Mike Boss, McKay Mc-Kay Middlesworth, and Janice Thompson. Students receiving superior ratings rat-ings and who will attend the la'e festival include: John Oldroyd Old-royd and Dennis Rowley in dramatic dra-matic readings and Hedi llam.en in humorous reading. Receiving excellent ratings were: Mike Boss, acting; Edith Durrand and Terri Gilger, dramatic dra-matic readings; and Carla Dalley Dal-ley (who will also attend the state meet) and Eugene Dalley, humorous readings. Honorable mention awards were presented to John Misel and Charles Gar-! field, radio-speech; Jill Carter and Laurel Coniglio, mono-acting; and Mary Clark, dramatic reading. Mary Jean Bulloch and Kathy rohnson assisted with make-up. The Cedar High School stage crew, unaer rne airecnon oi crau Biederman, and John Misel, were in charge of properties. Biederman Bieder-man and Misel will accompany the group this week end to the state meet at BYU. |
