Show PHS Track Men Get Points in Dixie Invitational A small squad of track men from Parowan High School participated parti-cipated in the Dixie Invitational Track and Field meet at St. George last Saturday and were able to garner eight points in the meet with many schools competing for points according to Lowell Caldwell, coach. Six of the Ram points came from the relay races with the 880 yard relay team winning second sec-ond place for five points and the medley relay team getting fifth for one. Garth Decker got the other two points with a fourth place in the high hurdles. Running in the 880 yard relay team were Randy Bentley, Mike Hulet, Wayne Rowley and Wayne Stubbs. Members of the medley team were Phil Burt, Gary Cart-wright, Cart-wright, Garth Decker and Arnold Lister. Coach Caldwell is staging an intra-class track and field meet next Thursday at 1 p. m. on the Parowan field, running the meet on a junior and senior high basis. ba-sis. Seventh, eighth and ninth graders will vie against each other on a class basis, and the tenth, 11th and 12th will compete in the second division, also on a class basis. On the following Wednesday, April 20 Caldwell will take a team to a triangular meet at Mil-ford, Mil-ford, involving Milford, Parowan and Beaver, and on Friday, 22, he will enter a team in the Richfield Rich-field invitational meet. |
