Show Cold Snap Threatens Early Fruit Blossoms The "frigid" weather the first of the week, may have took its toll of early fruit blossoms in the area, with the temperature dropping to 28 degrees at the Parowan weather station Monday morning and 23 degrees on Tuesday Tues-day morning according to Clayton Clay-ton Rasmussen. But he states that the blossoms on apricot trees were not damaged dam-aged greatly in his area of the city and appeared to be bright and fresh over most of the city. A 23-degree reading usually denotes de-notes a heavy kill here, but a brisk breeze during Sunday and Monday nights may have been instrumental in saving the crop for the time being anyway. |
