Show League Adopts Study of Zoning for 1956 A salad-bar luncheon in the lining room of the Sugar Loaf Cafe, smartly decorated in Easter motif by luncheon co-chairmen, Mrs. Bruce McKay and Mrs. Gray-n Gray-n son Gowen, was the setting for the annual meeting of the League mJL of Women Voters of Cedar City. A resume of the past year's accomplishments ac-complishments was given by Mrs. James Hale, president. After some spirited discussion on proposed agenda for the coming com-ing year, it was voted to undertake under-take a one-year study of the local lo-cal city and county zoning ordinances. ordin-ances. It was felt that this would be a topic of current interest inasmuch in-asmuch as the freeway construction construc-tion is bound to have some effect on these ordinances. A slate of officers for the coming com-ing year was nominated and elected. They were: Mrs. R. L. Gardner, vice president; Mrs. D. G. Cowan and Mrs. Charles F. Hunter, directors. Continuing in their present offices will be Mrs. James Hale, president; Mrs. Paul Beck, secretary; Mrs. D. C. Schmutz, treasurer; Mrs. Grayson Gray-son Gowen, Mrs. Bruce McKay and Mrs. M. A. Cowley, directors. It was announced that the Ce-1 dar City League will send two members to the national convention con-vention May 2 - 6 In Denver. They are Mrs. James Hale and Mrs. C. R. Juvelin. j |
