Show PROCLAMATION WHEREAS the members of the Armed Forces of the United States have constantly demonstrated demon-strated their loyalty and devotion devo-tion to the service of their country; coun-try; and WHEREAS it is approprite and desirable that we devote one day each year to a public expression of respect for men and woman who demonstrate their patriotic devotion to the Nation by service ser-vice in the Armed Forces of the United States; and WHEREAS the third Saturday in May has been designated for observance or Armed Forces Day: NOW. THEREFORE, I Arnold E. Anderson, Mayor of the City of Cedar City do hereby proclaim pro-claim that Saturday, May 18, 1957, shall be recognized in this city as Armed Forces Day. I Invite all groups of patriotic citizens. Including veterans, women's wo-men's fraternal, educational, religious, re-ligious, commercial, labor and Industrial organizations, to participate par-ticipate actively in the Armed Forces Day In their communities, to the end that we may Join In honoring the Armed Forces and In emphasizing the direct relationship rela-tionship of each citizen to the Nation's continuing effort for peace and freedom through the strength of united people.
