Show HAPPENINGS IN PARAGONAH By Nora Lund i All sessions of Stake Conference Confer-ence were well attended by our ward members. Heber Lund, Du-anc Du-anc Lamoreaux and Ken Top-ham Top-ham played accordion music, and Joe Topham assisted Douglas Rowley in a pantomime at the social Saturday evening. During Sunday Sarah Robinson, Golda Topham, Ruth Abbott, Hilma Lamoreaux, Pauline Topham, Hannah Robinson and Miriam Anderson were a part of the Singing Mothers group which furnished such beautiful music. At Sunday evening MIA service ser-vice 16 of our young people sang in the stake youth chorus which D. Amasa Stones directed. Miss Annette Dalton received her Silver Sil-ver Vj if ft 1 1 r t Anaiu, Mtoo IlCaCI. Jean Dalton gave one of the! talks and Ruth Ann Dalton offered of-fered the benediction. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hurst of Pan-guitch Pan-guitch visited old friends In our community on Friday and Saturday. Sat-urday. Martha E. Barton, Lula Bas-tlan. Bas-tlan. Bertha Topham. Dortha Barton" and Nora Lund attended sessions at the St. George Temple Tem-ple on Thursday. The group also called on Mrs. Bell Topham at the Truman Rest Home and visited vis-ited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Rose. Mrs. Lund also visited with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Roxa McAllister. LaGrande Robb spent a few days in Salt Lake City with his family. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Warren and family of Ely, Nev.. spent the week end here and In Paro-wan Paro-wan with the Cyril Partners and the Eugene Warrens. We are happy to report a new business established In our com-i munity. Mrs. Wilson Lund has set up a drapery and upholstery business at her home here. She has, had years of xperienc" along these lines and we wish her every success in her new venture. James M. Barton, now employed em-ployed as cook at the new Glen Canyon project, and his mother, Mrs. Gertrude Barton of Cednr City, spent the day Sunday with the Ted Barton and Jim Anderson Ander-son families. Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Robinson and children ot Kanab came In Saturday to visit their respective respec-tive families. Mrs. Edith Davenport Dav-enport returned with them to spend a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Partner of Salt Lake City visited with his brother Cyril Partner and family Saturday and Sunday on their way to and from St. George. Mattle Barton, Nora Barton and Delia Partner spent Friday In Beaver on business and visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Clem Duncan of Meadow. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Maxwell. Mrs. Clare Miller of To-Querville, To-Querville, and Mr. and Mrs. Myrl Gibson of Cedar City were Vl.-Itort Vl.-Itort at the Wilson Lund home during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Anderson' i were very pleased to have Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ray of Prime-ville. Prime-ville. Ore. with them Wednesday through Friday. Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Ray are sisters. Mrs Alva Gale and three children chil-dren of Beaver visited Sundav with her mother. Mrs. May Lister. Lis-ter. Mrs. Jane Gale accompanied her and visited with her daughters daugh-ters Mrs. Annie Talbot and Mrs. Delsa Talbot. Mrs. Delia Partner and nephew Creg Barton spent Thursday with the Arlo Davenport family in St. George. Master . Crls Bentley of St. George Is here to spend a week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones. Our townspeople contributed well to the Cancer drive. The i volunteer workers were Mrs. Alice I Robinson, Mrs. Dortha Barton, Mrs. Nina Robb, Mrs. Edith Barton Bar-ton and Mrs. Nora Lund. Duane Lamoreaux and Heber Lund played accordion music for the Literary Club In Pa rowan Saturday afternoon. Howard Jones and Albert of Beaver made a business trip to El Centro, Calif., on Thursday. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Marion En-glestead En-glestead of St. George traveled with them as far as Henderson. Nev., and visited with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Manzi-one Manzi-one and daughter Barbara are making a home In St. George for the present, wh-re Mr. Manzione Is employed by the Telephone company. On Friday Mrs. Miriam Anderson, Ander-son, Mrs. Hannah Roblncton and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ray motored motor-ed to St. George to spend the dav with Mr. and Mrs. Job Hall. Mrs. Niels Jensen of Beaver and Mrs. Ed Larson of Milford were visitors at the J. L. Dalton home during the week. Scoutmaster James H. Anderson Ander-son took the scouts on a practice prac-tice launt Saturday. The trip Included In-cluded swimming and lunch at Veyo. with . sightseeing In St. George and Hurricane. Those who made the trip were Sammy Lister, Larry Lee Lister, Charles Boardman. Jim and Kennv Lam-oreaux, Lam-oreaux, Lee Topham. LaMar Anderson. An-derson. Stephen Topham. Ver-pene Ver-pene Jones, Jerry Talbot and Douglas Evans. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lister went along to furnish fur-nish transportation. Mrs. LI la Stones' Mia Maid class held Its Rose Tying Ceremony Cere-mony Tuesday evening In th Relief Society room at the ward chapeL Special guests were the parents of the girls, Mrs. Idella Robinson, stake YWMIA president, presi-dent, and Bishop and Mrs. Victor Robinson.
