Show Plans Move Forward For Annual National Guard Camp Final plans were taking shape this week for the annual two-week two-week summer encampment of the Utah National Guard. National Guard officials have designated camp dates as June 9 to 23 at Camp W. G. Williams at Jordan Narrows, south of Salt Lake City. More than 4.500 guardsmen from Smlthfleld on the north to St George on the south will be training simultaneously. simultan-eously. Engineer units from Salt Lake, Tooele, Davis. Uintah, Utah, Wasatch Wa-satch and Carbon counties will stag their two-week training In the rugged Wasatch Mountains Moun-tains where they will continue work on the Brighton-Heber combat com-bat roadway. The engineers have vn vnrk. lng with heavy loau t.uildwg equipment for the last two summer sum-mer camps to open the area for recreational uses. The hills of Camp Williams will be the scene of massive i"big gun" firing by artillerymen of XI Corps Artillery. These Guardsmen are from Washington, Washing-ton, Iron, Millard. Sevier. Beavtr. I Sanpete, Juab, Salt Lake Davis. Weber. Cache and Box Elder counties. This year's camp will mark the first time in two years that artillerymen ar-tillerymen will complete all of their firing maneuvers at Camr Williams. In previous years, they have moved their rumbling gun. to Dueway Proving Grounds for part of the problems. The camo will also mrk another an-other "first" for the Utah Guards-men. Guards-men. A two-day non-commissioned officer leadership course will b held the Friday and Saturday before camp opening.
