Redmen notched up two first places and two seconds in the Class B High : School Activity Association Relay Carnival staged at the Brlgham Young University In Provo Saturday Sat-urday afternoon. A relay team composed of Gary Bauer, Ron Prince, Merrill Harrison Har-rison and Gary Anderson were responsible for two of the firsts and one of the second place honors. hon-ors. A second team composed of Warren Rlgby, Dayne Gardner. Johnny Bentley and Bob Clark notched up the other second place. According to Coach Tal Norton the two teams were all that were taken to the carnival this year. Bauer, Prince, Harrisan and Anderson picked up their first, first place ribbon in the carnival's carni-val's sprint medley which consists con-sists of two 110 yard dashes and two 220 yard dashes. The team sped the distance in the time of 1:09.8 minutes to beat the second sec-ond best efforts of the Panguitch High School and third place American Fork. Their second first place was in the standard 880 yard relay consisting of iouf280yarddash - es. The group covered this ais- tance In 1:35.1 minutes. The team finished second behind Millard Mil-lard High In the shuttle relay, but ahead of Delta and Union who placed third and fourth, respectively. re-spectively. The mile relay team took the other second place ribbon for Cedar High, finishing behind Millard. Third place was captured cap-tured by Lehl and fourth by Wasatch Academy. |
