Show Teen-age Road-e-o Winners Released by Jaycees Hurley Hansen, son of -Mr. and Mrs. George Hansen rf Cedar Valley, emerged tile winner in the annual Junior Chamber of Commerce Teenage Road-e-o held Saturday morning at the College of Southern Utah campus. cam-pus. Placing second was Nell Gen-try, Gen-try, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gentry, and first place In the girls' division of the contest was won by Margo Harding, daugh. ter of Dr. "and Mrs. Lewis A Harding. Judging was done on a point basis with 40 allocated the written examination taken at the Cedar High School last Wednesday, Wed-nesday, and 60 on the driving skill portion of the contest. As winner of the contest Hansen Han-sen received a Philco table model mo-del radio given by North East Furniture, and a plaque that wa? awarded through the courtesy of Milne Truck Line. In addition Hansen will automatically be entered en-tered in the Utah Road-e-o to be held later this month. A leather brief case was awarded to Gentry through the courter" of Cedar School and Office Of-fice Supply and Miss Harding received a pen and pencil set given by the Cedar City Branch of First Security Bank. The contest Is conducted by the Jaycees and was under the chairmanship of Donald Jones this year. |
