Show Region 10 Music festival Date Announced . "Tfce highly colorful and enter-tailing, enter-tailing, as well as educational, &rtion 10 Muaic Festival will be staged In Fillmore Saturday for all high school and junior high school bands, orchestras and rhoraI groups. A full representation will again be presented by the Cedar schools Including representatives from all three categories from Both Junior and senior high schools. Eugene Helland, band director, wtn send both a junior and senior sen-ior Vand and both will participate partici-pate In the finale of the event the parade as well as the playing; contests. Choruses from both schools will participate under the direction direc-tion of Wallace Adams, and Prof. Boy 1 Halversen will enter orchestras or-chestras In both senior and junior jun-ior events. A schedule of events for the Cedar City participants will begin be-gin at 9 a. m. with the junior high school orchestra. At 9:30 the high school orchestra will participate followed at 10 by the senior and junior choruses. At li a. m. the junior high band will perform and at 1:30 p. m. the high school band will appear ia concert. ' Marching will be judged at 430 d. m. and at 5 all bands will participate In the highly popular parade down Fillmore's Main Street. Sheldon Johnson of Millard High School, In charge of the event, announced that Newell Weight and Prof. Halversen would judge orchestras with Dan Martlno a judge for the bands. Wallace Adams will serve as a Judge for choral groups and For-1 rest Stoll and Mr. Martlno will judge the marching. The various groups do not participate par-ticipate against one another for honors In the music festival. Each group receives a score sheet and Is rated along with critical evaluation by the Judges. The event Is the highlight of the year for music departments in the Region. |
