Show Chamber Slates Meeting With Civic Clubs Cedar City Boosters Invited to Attend All members of local civic clubs and other citizens interested interest-ed in civic' development of Cedar Ced-ar City will meet together Monday Mon-day noon under the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce to discuss and collider pertinent civic problems. - The regular Lions Club meeting meet-ing will be devoted to this discussion dis-cussion with members of the Rotary and Kiwanls, Chamber of Commerce, Jaycees and the Business Bus-iness and Professional Women, Joining in the important community com-munity gathering. Any person interested in development in Ce-dar Ce-dar City Is invited to attend whether a member of the above mentioned groups or not. It is assumed that most of the members mem-bers of these groups are, or will soon become, members of the Chamber of Commerce. The principal subject to be brought before the combined civic groups will be that of the ! disposition of El Escalante hotel. (The Union Pacific Railroad company com-pany has announced Its Intention Inten-tion to sell the hotel, and the Cedar City administration has I taken an option on the property and is making a thorough study of the best and most feasible way of retaining the Important services to the community that have been possible through t he operation of the hotel in the past. The City Administration has asked the Chamber of Commerce to assist in the study of the problem and in reaching a decision de-cision on this Important matter. As a result the meeting Monday has been called to bring the question before those most interested in-terested in such a program. Other civic matters may also be brought before the group If time permits, Graham D. Mac-Donald, Mac-Donald, Chamber of Commerce president, states. The meeting will be held at El Escalante Hotel at noon on Monday, May 6, and every civic minded person In the city should be in attendance, Mr. MacDon-ald MacDon-ald says. |
