Show Anna Carter Chosen l By Jr. High School To Direct Activities Anna Carter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arlo Carter, was elected elect-ed president of the Cedar City Junior High School student body for 1957-58 at the school's general gen-eral election Friday. Newly elected officers will take over their respective duties dut-ies at the beginning of the school year next fall and will serve for half the school year. At that time a new slate of officers will be elected and installed. Serving on the school administrative admin-istrative body with Miss Carter will be Michael Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Carter, as vice president, and Linda Mac. farlane, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncey Macfarlane, as secretary. secre-tary. Elected as safety officer was Steve Cahoon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Cahoon; Judy Hall won the position of Judge. She Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hall, and Danny Lindsay, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Lindsay, will serve as athletic manager. The school divided into two parties for the election under the names of the "Jesters" and the "Ivy Leaguers." Serving as campaign cam-paign managers for the election proceeding were Judy Ashcroft and Linda Carpenter for the Ivy Leaguers and Pat Frame and Virginia Brown for the Jesters. Students, however, did not conform con-form to party lines, electing a a split ticket Officers who will complete their terms of office at the close of the school year this month include Cynthia Williams, president; presi-dent; Billy Short, vice president; Lana Prince, secretary; Mick Williams, chief of safety; Roger HIgbee, athletic manager, and Sheila Gardner, Judge. |
