Show Routine Matters Are Considered by Council At the regular meeting of the Parowan City Council on Monday Mon-day nicht. a number of routine business matters were considered and acted upon by the group ac cording to Mayor Osmer Nielsen. Ancel J. Adams was appointed to the Iron County Council on Aging by the city council. Mr. Adams will represent Parowan city on this council which is a new organization whirh has been sef UP ln lron Count.. Parowan City attorney was instructed in-structed to draft a "set-up" or dinance to govern local beer parlors. par-lors. The two local beer parlors have made applications for this (privilege, which is allowable un-state un-state law. Tne ordinance when drawn-up and passed by the city will permit the tavern operators to allow residents to take liquor in bottles into these places of business for consumption, with the proprietor given permission to furnish mixers, glasses, and Ice if he wishes too. Such places of business are restricted re-stricted to persons 21 years oi age and over, under state law according to Mayor Nielsen. With the time approaching when irrigation water will be placed in the city's Irrigation system, water users were reminded remind-ed by the council that all assessments assess-ments must be paid on or before March 15. Otherwise they cannot, obtain delivery of irrigation water wa-ter to their property for the 1963 season. Thfc council also issued a re-mlder re-mlder to dog owners that they must have their dogs licensed on or before Mar 31. After that date a penalty will be assessed to be added to the cost of the license, and the dogs are subject to destruction, de-struction, after the above date unless they have the tag attached attach-ed to their collar. The preliminary plat for the new Ancient Village Subdivision This subdivision is for the development dev-elopment of property near the west limits of Parowan City by a group of people, organized under un-der the title of the Golden Sand; Development Co., Mayor Nielsen I states. A new large lawn mower wa ordered by the city for use by the caretaker of the city cemetery, ceme-tery, to be on hand by the time i it is needed this spring. |
