Show City Council Authorizes Special Study of Glen Canyon Power; Asks Golf Course Care Cedar City Council authorized engaging Aero Tec Engineering firm to make an economic feasibility feasi-bility study on possible benefits from the Glen Canyon Power. The action was taken on recommendation re-commendation of the Cedar City Power Board who has, over the I past two years, conducted an Intensive In-tensive study of power in the area. A maximum fee for the study was set at $3500, according accord-ing to Mayor Kumen Gardner. In other action of the counr' sitting in regular session Thursday, Thurs-day, March 4, $300 was approved in advertising to the Deseret Magazine Ma-gazine and the Scenic edition of the Salt Lake Tribune in cooperation cooper-ation with an advertising program pro-gram of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce and the Five County Organization. The city announced a request from KSL-TV in Salt Lake City asking for an exclusive franchise for cable antenna TV system Installation In-stallation in Cedar City. The Council tabled the request and asked for a representative of the organization to meet with them for further explanation and discussion. dis-cussion. City manager Max Wood was authorized to attend a school in Salt Lake City in connection with the new Plumbing Code. The Council also discussed the matter of damage at the site of the municipal golf course and also approved the need to remove abandoned vehicles from the city streets. The council pointed out that horses and four-wheel vehicles had been taken into the golf course area and created extensive damage on tees, greens and fare-ways fare-ways that were planted last fall. They pointed out that the damage dam-age will now have to be repaired increasing the overall cost of the project. They requested that persons per-sons be aware of the problem and refrain from taking horses and vehicles into the area, especially es-pecially where planting has already al-ready been completed. Residents have also been requested re-quested by the Council to remove trailers, boats and cars, that are no longer in use from the city streets. Many vehicles and trailers trail-ers have been left on the streets by residents. They have asked residents to remove them. If they are not removed, citations will be Issued, the council stated. |
