Show Redmen Garner Undisputed Second Place 1 With Victory Over Hurricane in Final Game I Cedar High School Redmen picked up undisputed second place in the Dixie Division I basketball race this week when they traveled to Hurricane to de- ; feat the Tigers by a score of 37 to 34. i The Redmen, after a slow start came on strong in the second half of play to wind up in the second place slot and a right to enter the Region Eight tournament tourna-ment at Fillmore this week to vie for a spot in the Class S State tournament. The Kedinen ended up the first half of play with a two win and two loss record then came back in the final half with four consecutive con-secutive victories to moe into the second place spot. At Hurricane Friday evening the Redmen had some trouble but came out on top. David Jensen Jen-sen came off the bench to lead the scoring in the low scoring a.fair that was not decided until un-til the final period of play. The Redmen had an early lead holding a slim 13 to 7 margin at tiie end of the first quarter. The second quarter proved almost disastrous t o the Redmen as they produced probably their lowest scoring quarter of the season. sea-son. They had just four points and trailed 20 to 17 at halltime. Hurricane maintained the margin mar-gin through the third period as each team came up with nine points and the Redmen came to life in the final quarter with 11 points while holding the Tigers to Just five to win the contest. On the same evening Dixie defeated de-feated Enterprise 65 to 54 to wrap up first place in the Division suffering suf-fering only one loss that to the Redmen the previous week.
