Show Vocational Day Activities at College of Southern Utah, March 27, April 10, Outlined Vocational Day activities originally orig-inally planned for April 17 at College of Southern Utah have been changed to March 27 and April 10, it was announced by Prof. McRay Cloward, coordinator coordina-tor of special programs at the col. lege. Business, home economics, and trades and industries groups will meet at the college on Saturday, March 27. Agriculture participants particip-ants will hold activities on Saturday, Sa-turday, April 10. Business department competitive competi-tive events will include bookkeeping, book-keeping, first and second year shorthand, and first and second year typewriting. Prof. A. W. Stephenson, chairman of the CSU Division of Business and Social Science is in charge of the business busi-ness participation. Mrs. Ada Carpenter, chairman of the Division of Family Living, will supervise contests In pie making, table setting, centerpiece center-piece arrangement, and fashion display. The trades and Industries division divi-sion will be under the direction of Prof. Mel Roper, chairman of the Division of semi-professional and technical education. Events In that area will Include wood, metal, and leather work. Lunch will be served In the CSU Cafeteria. A special feature of the day's activities will be a social hour beginning at 1:30 p. m. In the Small Ballroom In the Student Center. A program, danc- lng and refreshments will be provided for Vocational Day participants. par-ticipants. Soil and livestock judging contests con-tests will be conducted Saturday, April 10 at the CSU Valley Farm under the direction of Prof. D. C. Schmutz, chairman of the Div-1 lsion of Agriculture, Biological I Science and Forestry. Schools participating In the event Include high schools and junior high schools in Iron, Kane, Washington, Garfield, Sevier, Wayne, Beaver, and Millard Counties in Utah and Clark and Lincoln Counties in Nevada. Page and Fredonla, Arizona, will also send representatives. |
