Show Summit Matron, 45, Dies After Long Illness Mrs. Elda Davis Fife, 45, of, Summit, died In a Salt Lake City hospital Thursday, March 15, of a lingering illness. . She was born Jan. 8, 1917 In Kanarravi'le, a daughter of Hannah Han-nah Peeves Davis. She married Rudger Fife of Cedar City on June 2, 1939 ln Pavowau. Laer solemnized ln the St. George temple. tem-ple. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mrs. File had been an active church worker, serving as counselor coun-selor in the Primary organization organiza-tion and has held a number of positions ln the YWMIA. Survivors Include her husband, one son and three daughters. Richard Fife, serving with the U. S. Air Force and stationed at Nellis Air Base In Las Vegas, Nev.; Donna Gayle, Colleen and Dorothy Fife of Summit Survivors Survi-vors also included her mother. Kanarraville; two brothers, Leonard Leon-ard and Delile Davis, Kanarraville; Kanarra-ville; two sisters Carma Williams, Wil-liams, Kanarraville, and Marva Prince, New Harmony. Funeral services were held ln the Summit Ward Chapel March 19, conducted by Bishop Ivan Dalley. Prayer with the family was of fered by Jay Davenport. The opening op-ening prayer was by Raymond L. Farrow, and the closing prayer by Boyd Walker. The grave was dedicated bv J Frank Dalley. The singing mothers sang two numbers, "Not Now, But In The Coming Years," and "Abide With Me." Prof. Roy L. Halversen play, ed a violin solo, 'The End of a Perfect Day," accompanied by Mrs. Lillian Macfarlane, both of Cedar City. Mrs. Sylvia Stapley played the prelude and postlude music and accompanied the Singing Mothers. Talks were given by Bishop Alton Al-ton Ford, . Kanarraville, and Oscar Os-car J. Hulet, with remarks by Bishop Dalley. Burial was In the Cedar City cemetery. |
