Show Winter Encampment Held by Boy Scouts Some "O.socuts and leaders! from the Cedar Breaks Scouting District participated in the annual an-nual winter encampment in the Wood's Ranch area in Cedar Canyon Friday and Saturday. Troops taking part in the activity ac-tivity Included 3-17 from the Seventh Ward under the diree- tion of Leader, Dr. Morris Shirts; 16 from the Sixth Ward, leader, Larry Heap; and 330 from the Eighth Ward, leaders, Dr. Conrad Con-rad Hatch, Lawrence Cooper, Ar-dean Ar-dean Chi Ids and Howard Thorley. The group left for the encampment encamp-ment area Friday afternoon. After Af-ter setting up camp they prepared prepar-ed the evening meal and participated parti-cipated in a short campfire program. pro-gram. Following breakfast Saturday Satur-day morning, the scouts took part in snowshoe races and other activities. They returned to Cedar Ce-dar City by noon Saturday. Leaders reported that there were five or six feet of snow in the encampment area. ' District Committeemen assisting assist-ing with the encampment were Dr. Willard O. Stratton, Wayne Jones and Phil Ogden. Lee Robertson of the State Fish and Game Association, spoke to scouts and leaders at the March Scouters' Roundtable. The meeting meet-ing was held as preparation for the winter encampment. |
