Show College lobs USU In Summer Tour Plans College of Southern Utah, cooperating co-operating with Utah State University, Uni-versity, will offer a 48-day education edu-cation tour of America and nine European Countries, it was announced an-nounced this week. Dr. Twain Tippetts, head of the USU Fine Arts Department, will conduct this stimulating cross-country tour of the U. S. and throughout Europe. The tour will travel through Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy, It-aly, France, Spain, England, Scotland and Ireland. The summer educational tour may be taken for credit with as high as nine hours to be given, or may be taken for pleasure, Dr. Tippetts stated. Interested persons in the southern south-ern Utah area have been invited to contact Prof. Harry Plummer at CSU for details. Dr. Tippetts appeared on the CSU campus Monday at noon with a special film and itinerary itiner-ary information of the tour. He Indicated that those participating parti-cipating will first travel the scenic route through the Colorado Colora-do Rockies to Denver and across the Great Plains into Chicago and on overnight train through Illinois, with an early arrival in New York City. After a full day of sightseeing the tour will take off from International Inter-national Airport on a flight overnight over-night to Amsterdam on a giant Jet airliner. Private motorcoaches will be reserved for use on the continent, Dr. Tippetts stated. There will also al-so he a inemorable boat trip by Rhlnesteamer up the castle-rimmed castle-rimmed Rhine to the old college city of Heidleberg. Gondolas will be waiting in Venice and a deluxe de-luxe steamer will take the tour group across the Bay of Naples entroute to the Isle of Capri and An early flight from Paris will transport the group to London for a four day stay in England. From England flights have also been arranged to Glasgow, Scotland Scot-land and Shannon, Ireland before be-fore the final air trip back to New York City and a scenic rail trip back to Utah. "It will be a rare opportunity to learn more about the creative arts in some of the world's greatest great-est art centers," he concluded. |
