Show Literary Club Meets For Evening of Music Appreciation The Parowan Literary Club met on Wednesday evening of last week at the home of Mrs. Jess Guymon with Mrs. E. Ray Lyman acting as co-hostess. The meeting was presided over and conducted by Mrs. Karl O. Mitchell, vice president. A report of the project committee was given by Mrs. Max Dalley, who also gave the thought for the evening. ' The program was under the direction di-rection of Mrs. William Marsden, Mrs. E. Ray Lyman and Mrs. W. Clair Rowley. The subject for the program was music and Mrs. Rowley gave the life and accomplishments ac-complishments of Dr. Florence Jepperson Madsen from the book "With a Song in Her Heart" by Grace Hildy Croft. Mrs. Lyman read a poem from the same book written by one of Dr. Madsen's Singing Mothers, in tribute to Dr. Madsen as a director of singing sing-ing mothers on the Relief Society Socie-ty General Board. A trio consistip of Mrs. Guymon, Guy-mon, Mrs. Lyman, Mrs. Mitchell, Mrs. Marsden. Mrs. Charles F. Bentley, Mrs. Clifton Taylor and Mrs. Alice Gardner, sang one of Dr. Madsen's compositions "O Entrancing Night.". Mrs. Melva Barton accompanied them. Dainty refreshments were served ser-ved by the hostesses and the meeting was adjourned. The members will meet on March 21 at the home of Mrs. Gilbert Bar-,ton. |
