Show Special Tour Made Of Southern Utah Brlgham Young Chapter of Sons of Utah Pioneers spent the worlrxnd of May 4, 5, and 6 with Southern UtUTT-history; Twenty couples, led by tour leader, Dr. Vasco M. Tanner, visited the Old State Capitol at Fillmore, Cove Fort, the Columbia Mining oper-atlons oper-atlons as guests of Norman Heat-on. Heat-on. Old Iron Town, Mountain Meadows of Spanish Trail fame, Jacob Hamblin home in Santa Clara, Brlgham Young winter home In St. George, the Cotton Mill at Washington, Sliver Reef and Old Fort Harmony. Dr. William R. Palmer, as guest lecturer, thrilled his listeners with numerous stories' and Al bert E. MUler shared some of his memories with the group In St. George where they were met by President Arthur Bruhn and Prof. Carl Larson of Dixie College. Col-lege. Tour Guide Provided I A printed tour guide, prepared by Dr. Tanner, gave background information of historic sites' In Utah's southland. At Cedar City the visitors received copies of the booklet, "Rainbow Land," by Gustlve O. Larson with compliments compli-ments of W. P. Rogers, manager of Utah Parks Company. Part of the group visited the"Cedar City Art Exhibit and were shown the College of Southern Utah camp, us by Director Royden C. Braithwaite Braith-waite and Prof. Roy L. Halversen. Before leaving St George, the trekkers held a prayer service on Sugar Loaf, overlooking the city. Prayer was offered by Chaplain J. Wyley Sessions, and singing was led by Mrs. Harold R. Clark. At Washington, original poetry was read by Ann Woodbury Haf-en Haf-en and Annie Atkln Tanner.
