Show Activities Listed for Commencement Week at College of Southern Utah Commencement week activities get underway at College Col-lege of Southern Utah Sunday, May 20, with the honors and awards convocation services in the afternoon, and ba-calaureate ba-calaureate and Institute of Religion graduation exercises in the evening. Commencement services at CSU will be conducted Friday, Fri-day, May 25. Elder LeGrand Richards, member of the Coun cil of the Twelve, and chairman of the board of trustees for Utah State Agricultural College and its branches, will deliver the address to the graduates to end the week-Jong activities. Beginning at 2 p. m. Sunday, the 20th, honors and awards will be extended to students' in special ceremonies. Charles R. Hunter, member of the board of trustees, will address the group of students who have achieved in their field and who have been recognized by their achievements. A list of recipients has been given elsewhere. Baccalaureate The Institute of Religion graduation grad-uation exercises will serve , as CSU baccalaureate services at 8 p.m. All activities are Jlsted in the auditorium. Dr. Royden C Bralthwalte, director of CSU, will deliver a response as featured Speaker. During the Friday commencement commence-ment program, 21 graduates will receive a bachelor of science degree de-gree and 82 will be presented with a graduate in science degree. de-gree. Atasaal gaaered During the week the Fifty-Year Fifty-Year Club 'win honor CSU' by attending at-tending their seventh arnual reunion. re-union. The Fifty-Year .Club was organized In 1950 at the 30th anniversary of th first graduating gradua-ting class of the college. Each year members of the graduating class of 90 years ago Is added Dalley. professor-emeritus ef CSU is In charge of the arrangements. They will be held Wednesday, May 23 from 4 to 9 p.m. in the library lounge. Further honor will b extend-ed extend-ed to the Fifty-Year members at the alumni banquet Thursday, May 24. Arrangements' for the dinner at 7:30 p.m. at El Escal-ante Escal-ante Hotel have been under the direction of Kllen Rollo, president presi-dent of the alumni association. A dance for all students and alumni will follow at the CSU ballroom. Before Commencement exercises exer-cises on Friday, Director and Mrs. Bralthwalte will receive faculty members, members of the board of trustees, graduates, their parents' par-ents' and friends at a reception at the Director's cottage. Time is set from 4 to 5 p. m. |
