Show Donlee Smith Recites Vows in Temple Ceremony President Harold S. Snow of the St. George LDS Temple performed perform-ed a double-ring ceremony Friday, Fri-day, May 4 which united Donlee Smith and Kenneth Simkins in wedlock. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Smith of Cedar City, was lovely in a gown styled with fitting bodice of lace over reverse re-verse satin. Her Peter Pan neck line and long pointed sleeves were accented by tiny lace covered cov-ered buttons. The skirt fell In douhje pleats to floor length and t forehead cap of white peddled lace dotted with sequins held the veil of bride's allusion which was 'rimmed In matching lace. The bridegroom is a son of Mrs. Ellen A. Simkins of Cedar City. Following the ceremony the weddlngparty returned to Cedar mother entertained at a dinner. Friday evening the couple was honored at a reception held In the College Ward Relief Society rooms. Assisting the bride were Mrs. Van L. Bushnell as matron of honor, and Joy Perry, Dlanne Corv'ey, Nellene Parry and Joyce Crabtree as bridesmaids. They wore light styled dresses of pur-Die pur-Die and lavender chambray and carried bouquets of forget-me-nots and carnations. Mother of the bride wore a dress of pink lace and the bridegroom's mother was dressed In a fitted lavender suit. They held bouquets of pink and white carnations. Standing as best man at the nuntial affair was Billv N-ietr?e. Ushers were Kay Smith, brother nf the bri'le. and Gayle and Robert Rob-ert Simkins, brothers of the brlrtesrnom. Miss Mnrva Carter was at the nlano thrnuphout the evenini and entertainment consisted of '.'vo numbers from a proup composed com-posed of Jerl Smith, Fhirley Graff and J.met Sv'nck, and two vncil numbers by Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wood. At the Riiest book was Mrs. Kay Smith, and pouring were Mrs. Edward Parry and Mrs. Elmo Orton, sister of the bridegroom. bride-groom. Assisting In the gift room was Mrs. Melvln Baldwin and Mrs Lloyd Fullerton, sisters of the bridegroom, and Janet Slack and Jeanette Flanigan. Serving were Mrs. Billy Naegle, Miss Graff and Miss Smith. In the kitchen were Mrs. Hazen Cooley. Mrs. Larfolr Jonei Mrs. Robert Simkins and Mrs. Mae Simkins. Members of the College Ward Bee Hive group also assisted in the kitchen. kitch-en. Floral decorations consisting of lilacs, carnations and snapdragons, snapdra-gons, were arranged under the direction of Mrs. Hyrum Perry. The popular young couple will make a home in Salt Lake City. |
