Show Bob Clark Wins Third Place in Quarter Mile Event Bob Clark, quarter mUer from the Cedar City High School and the only member of the Redmen track and field team who qualified quali-fied to participate in the State Class B meet, came through with a third place in his event Wed nesday in the meet. Originally scheduled for Saturday, Sat-urday, May 12, the meet was postponed because of inclement weather and was" held on the University of Utah cinders Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Pleasant Grove walked off with meet honors. By capturing the state track and field meet the PG high school made a clean sweep of the state championships this year. They garnered in addl-tion addl-tion to Wednesday's state championship, cham-pionship, the Class B fpotball and basketbal crowns. Region six schools were led by Dixie in the state contest. The Flyers captured 21 points' to place fifth in the meet. Other Region Six schools scored as follows: Beaver, 14; Delta, 8; Cedar City, 3; Kanab, 3; Mllford, 3, and Millard Mil-lard 2. In addition to placing highest from the region, Dixie also came through with a state championship champion-ship this year In the tennis division di-vision of the competition. |
