Show Eldon Schmutz Named President oi Livestock Show Assn. At a meeting of the executive committee of the Southern Utah Livestock Show Association, held Tuesday evening, Eldon Schmutz was elected as president for the coming year. He will succeed Darrell Matthews. Schmutz is assistant manager of the Cedar City branch of the First Security Bank of Utah, and has long been associated with the livestock Interests of the area. He is presently, serving as president of the Escal'ante Valley Cattlemen's Association. Cliff Ewing, owner and operator operat-or of the Cedar City Laundry and. Cleaners', was re-appointed for the second consecutive year as manager of the Livestock Show. Vice presidents named at the meeting Include Wendell Jones, first vice president; Dean Gard ner, st. George, second vice pres. ident, and Grant Esplin. third vice president. Nell Boyter was reappointed as secretary and treasurer of the organization. Members of the executive committee com-mittee include Darrell Matthews, Ewing, Alex Williams, Wallace Sjoblom, Richard Leigh, Schmutz, and Kumen Gardner. Efforts are now being made by the association to locate property proper-ty on which to erect a buUding that can be used by the association associa-tion for the annual show and which, during the remainder of the year, could be utlizled for such functions as recreation faculties' fa-culties' and a gathering place for larger groups. Several sites' have been located and studies are being made to determine the most feasible location loca-tion and the location that can be used according to city planning and development advancements. |
