Show NEWCASTLE NEWS NOTES by Norma Chrlstensen Funeral Services were held in the New Castle Ward hall last week for Jack Crum of Beryl. Warren Piatt of the New Castle Ward Bishopric was in charge. The opening grayer was given by Bob Crum, a brother of the deseased. The New Castle Ward Singing Mothers sang. "Sometime We'll Understand," after which, Otto Fife of Cedar City gave a talk. Leon Bow'.er of Enterprise . sang a vocal solo, 'The Golden Bells." accompanied by Mrs. Miriam Mir-iam McGarry of Beryl. President I Grant Clove of the Uvada Stake was the next speaker. The closing clo-sing song by the Singing Moth-' era was "Rest, Rest for the Wear-y Wear-y Soul." The benediction was offered of-fered by Graham Crum, another brother of the deseased. The pre-lude pre-lude music was furnished by Mrs. Vivian Knell. Bishop Mont Sor-ensen Sor-ensen offered the family prayer, I .nd burial was in Safford, Ariz. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Prisbey of' New Harmony were visitors this week at the home of their daugh-! ter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. ' CJlfton Hulet. I Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo Chrlstensen Chrlsten-sen Journeyed to Las Vegas, Nev. last week end where Mr. Chrlstensen Chrlst-ensen represented the St. George Utah Poultry plant at the Las Vegas Livestock Show. While' there they where guests at the home of their son and his family, ' Mr. arid Mrs. Caine Chilotensen.' ' The Christensens returned home Sunday In time to greet old friends from Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Don Swenson. The Christensens Christen-sens lived next door to the Swen- sons 23 years ago in Ogden, and they hadn't seen each other since. Also neighbors at that time were Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Beacham, former New Castle residents, now living in St. George. These old friends all journeyed together to Page, Ariz, and Glen Canyon Dam and enjoyed reliving old memories. Heldorado Days in Las Vegas beckoned Scott Tullis and his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Carrol Tullis over the week end. Scott also visited his cousin, Donald Don-ald Tullis. Sunday visitors at the Melvin Hulet home were Belle's family, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Nielsen and children from Washington. Senior activities at this graduation gradu-ation time have kept Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Knell busy. Mike is the only high school graduate we have this year. Mike is also the recipient of a scholarship to CSU. Mr and Mrs. C. E. Hart left Wednesday morning for Monterey Monter-ey Park, Calif, where they will stay with their daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Vern (Mary Lou) Malley, while Mr. Hart undergoes un-dergoes a medical check up. Sacrament services Sunday were under the direction of students stu-dents of the CSU institute of Religion. These students presented present-ed a very interesting program and everyone enjoyed it. Uvada Stake Sunday School preparation was held Sunday night in the New Castle ward hall and under tht direction of the New Castle Sunday school. Stake officers present were Gro-ver Gro-ver and Brooke Swallow and La-Von La-Von Phillips, all of Pioche, Nev. |
