Show Pony League Opens Summer Play Tues. The call to "play ball" will' ring out at the Cedar City Pony League park Tuesday evening, May 30 as the 1961 season gets underway for the four teams of the Pony League. Opening the season will be Utah Parks and Phillips, with California Pacific meeting Utah Construction Wednesday, to begin be-gin the seasc. fo' those two clubs, according to Charles Es-plin, Es-plin, league president. The Pony League games are slated to be played under the lights beginning each evening at 8 p. m. On the opening week, the teams will play Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Fri-day evenings. Thereafter, games will be played Monday, Tuesday. Thursday and Friday evenings with Wednesday and Saturday evenings open each week. Utah Construction won the league championship in I960 and will be defending this season . Teams in the Pony League are reorganized each year to include second year and first year boys in comparative equal teams for each season. Boys who played as teammates In the Pony League last season may be separated to bring about equality this season. sea-son.
