Show I L 0 E Announces Worthy Student Winner Officers of the Cedar City La-, dies of Elks announced this week that Miss Judy Ann Hallman has been named as the recipient recipi-ent of the $100 Worthy Student award for attendance at College of Southern Utah. Miss Hallman is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lister Hallman of Cedar City. Named as alternate was Miss Deanne Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. De Evans of Parowan. Also announced was the name of Miss Bonnie Clark, daughter of Mrs. Roberta Clark, as the Ladies La-dies of Elks delegate to Girls State. The May meeting of the Ladies of Elks, was a most successful Mothers and Daughters Social held Thursday, May 18. Guests were welcomed by soft piano music by Pamela Wood and at the appointed hour, were entertained enter-tained by the following daughters daugh-ters of members of the BPOE: Cindy and Kathy Loer, Sally Jackson, Sandra Browning, Nancy Nan-cy Burgess, Wendy Ward, Kim-berly Kim-berly MacFarlane, Sherry Nelson, Sharon Keid, and Joy Lynn Taylor. Tay-lor. Following the entertainment, refreshments were served to approximately ap-proximately 120 people. Rounding Round-ing out the evening were bingo games and a fish pond for the youngsters. The committee in charge consisted con-sisted of Annie Corry, Colleen I'rie, Jane Nolson, Harriet Burgess. Bur-gess. Evelyn Taylor. Officers announced that at the regular June meeting on the 15th the officers will serve "breakfast" "break-fast" to all members of the Ladies of Elks. |
