Mr. and Mrs. Mario Stones and the Carlyle Mitchell family of Cedar City were here: for the occasion. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux are down from Provo for a visit with the Chester Robinson fam-' ily. The first of the week Orval Lamoreaux and son Ralph and Mrs. and Mrs. Nils Bayles joined them here and traveled to Panguitch Pan-guitch Lake for a fine fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Berry, friends of the Ivan Robb family, fam-ily, arrived in town last week for the opening of the fishing season. sea-son. They were accompanied by several of their friends. James Mover of Los Angeles, arrived in town on Thursday of last week for a 10-day visit with his friends, the J. L. Dal-ton Dal-ton family and to enjoy the annual an-nual fishing trips for which he comes to Utah each summer. Miss Sherry Dawn Evans went to Cedar City last Friday to attend at-tend the annual Older 4-H Club encampment. Games and elections elec-tions were in order and the evening's eve-ning's session was held at the Parowan Five Mile. Garth Robinson, son of Mrs. Mabel Robinson of Salt Lake City, arrived here last Saturday for a visit with relatives and is enjoying a fishing trip in the local mountains with his cousin, cou-sin, Val Robb. Nine youngsters from Paragon-ah Paragon-ah started to Kindergarten in iParowan last week. There are three girls and six boys. Included Includ-ed in the group are Debby Barton, Bar-ton, Peggy Lamoreaux, Debby Evans, Steven Edwards, Danny Robb, Johnny Barton, Leslie Top-ham, Top-ham, Gary Lamoreaux and La-Mar La-Mar Lister. Miss Lynn Murray of Cedar City Ci-ty was a week end guest of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Lew-Is Lew-Is Davenport. Miss Helen Jean Dalton, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Dalton, left for Logan in the wee hours of Sunday morning to attend the annual Girls' State. Miss Dalton was sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary organization. Bishop Victor R. Robinson left for Ogden on Monday with a byiness associate to attend several sev-eral days of meetings for forest service officials. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Topham and members ef their family of Salt Lake City were week end visitor visit-or to Paragonah to visit with Earl's folks, the Asa Topham family. The group included Mrs. Jerry Wright, and her baby, Cheryl Sue, and Barry Topham and Tony LeFevre. When the rest of the family returned to the city Miss Cheryl Sue remained remain-ed in town for a more extended visit. Mr. and Mrs. D. Amasa Stones are the proud great grandpar-ents grandpar-ents for the first time. A fine hahy boy was born Tuesday forenoon to Warren (Bud) Green and his wife, the former Lynda Mitchell of Cedar City. Lyle Topham arrived In town early this week after attending school at the University of Utah for the past winter. He plans to spend some time here before going go-ing on to Los Angeles to Join the family. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Lamoreaux Lamor-eaux and their entire family of Provo were here for the opening of the fishing season and for a week end visit with Rilla's mother, mo-ther, Mrs. Eda Thornton and other relatives. Howard Topham was taken to the Iron County Hospital late Sunday night suffering from a severe attack of bursitis In the shoulder. He was able to return home on Tuesday. Relatives here are rejoicing over the arrival of a baby boy born recently to Roger and Kath-erlne Kath-erlne Smith of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Gertrude Barton returned to Cedar City on Monday after almost a week here with her son Ted and family. Miss Annette Dalton is In Salt Lake City with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Willard Dalton. Dal-ton. Annette hopes to find employment em-ployment there. Clyde Lamoreaux is home again after several months of spring employment near Cedar City. Kenneht Topham was home from nryre Canyon for his day off Sunday. Ronnie came on Tuesday Tues-day to spend his day off with his family. Larry Dalley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Daily, arrived home on Thursday of last week after having completed his four years of duty with the U. S. Navy. He has just returned from the Philippines. Larry visited here with relatives for a few days and left on Sunday for Wyoming Wy-oming to join his parents. Edwin Williamson is home again from Las Vegas. His son Glenn brought him home on Frl- day and remained In this locality locali-ty for a week end of fishing with I friends. I Mrs. Lula Bastlan came home last week after almost a month with relatives in Colorado. Her niece, Mrs. Beatrice Shidled, daughter Carol and son Paul, returned re-turned to Paragonah with her and visited for several days before be-fore going backk to their home near Sila, Colo. Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Talbot and family were week end visitors from Salt Lake City. Their two cchildren, Curtis and Valerie, remained re-mained here to spend a week with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Renford Talbot. A niece, Mina Lamoreaux, returned with them (to Salt Lake City for a summer visit there. Mrs. Ella Felstead of Parowan attended Relief Society meeting on Tuasday to give demonstrations demonstra-tions on textile painting, rug making and the construction of artificial flowers. Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Scott and children Mike and Patricia wore up from Henderson, Nev. for the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Albert Jones and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lamoreaux came also. Mrs. Jones visited h-r Mople in Beaver, Margaret spent her time with family members here and they enjoyed a fishing trip. Mr. and Mrs. Steve Adams and their small son arrived here from the northern part of the state on Monday. They plan to visit with Ida's people here while looking for a place in Cedar City to spend the summer. Following that they will be moving to California Califor-nia where Mr. Adams has a position po-sition teaching school. D IT P meeting will be held next Thursday. June 19 at the home of Mrs. Ethel S. Robb. The meeting will commence at 2 p. m. and all ladies of the community com-munity are Invited to be present. pres-ent. This will be the last meeting meet-ing of the current season and each lady Is asked to wear some article of pioneer wearing apparel appar-el or to bring some family relic. Fishing season seemed to be the Important event in this lo- callty for the past week. Fishermen Fish-ermen report fine conditions In the local area and many good catches were made. Mr. and Mrs. Garfield Clark and sons Gilbert and Gary of Cedar Ce-dar City were in Paragonah for the Clark -Thornton wedding and reception. Also present were Conrad's Con-rad's brother Fred and his sisters, sis-ters, the Misses Muriel and Shirley Shir-ley Clark. They came from California Cali-fornia for the occasion. Far too numerous to mention were the many friends, 'datives and business associates who came from all the nearby communities com-munities for the reception. |
