Show KdnG Commission Is i!"S Lciks Restrictions Kane County Commissioners adopted an ordinance in May of i this year establishing boating regulations on Navajo Lake. The popular use of Navajo for such sporting events as boating, water skiing and other water sports in the past year, In addition to fishing, fish-ing, has made it necessary to adopt a regulation governnlng the use of these boats on the popular waters. In essence the ordinance sue-cifically sue-cifically states that when such sports as racing, water skiing and other type of boating can be done, and in what area of the lake it can be performed. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, holi-days, including July 4, Labor Day, and Memorial Day, are the dates that these activities can be performed on the lake. The boundaries to which these activities acti-vities must be confined has been designated as follows: Tl.at portion of Navajo Lake between the dike across the lake and Spruct Camp Ground, a width of 3575 feet from the western west-ern boundary running parallel with the dike. Except as mentioned above, boats will not be allowed to move at a speed beyond 10 miles per hour. Other stipulations prohibit boating while intoxicated and require re-quire boaters to operate in a careful and prudent manner at all times. The Kane County Commission i ahs a fine of $200 or six months in jalr or both, for violation of the ordinance. |
