Show Robert A. Slack Gets Three Year Mission Field Call ROBERT A. SLACK Robert A. Slack, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Slack of Cedar City, has been called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to serve a three-year mission. Elder Slack will be honored at a farewell testimonial on Sunday. Sun-day. June 15 at 6:30 n. m. In the Fifth Ward chapel. Friends and relatives of Elder Slack have been extended an invitation in-vitation to the testimonial. Bishop Bish-op Homer Jones will conduct the event and speakers will Include Paul E. Felt, former director of the LDS Institute; James Hey-wood, Hey-wood, Ray Baumgartner, with remarks by Bishop Jones and the missionary. Elder Slack will serve a three-year three-year mission and he will be assigned as-signed to the North Far East Mission field with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. He will enter the mission home In Salt Lake City on Wednesday, June 23 in preparation for leaving leav-ing for the mission field and he will embark from San Francisco, Calif., on July 2 for Japan. The missionary is a graduate of the Cedar City High fchool and the College of Southern Utah In Cedar City. He has attended Brlgham Young University this past year under a scholarship in the field of secondary education. He has been active in church affaln, serving in many capacities capa-cities In his priesthood quorums. |
