Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heyborne of Logan visited last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. York Jones. Weekend activities Included Includ-ed fishing and camping at Pan-guitch Pan-guitch Lake. The former Cedar-ites Cedar-ites planned to visit In Delta with their families before returning re-turning to their home In Logan. House guests of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barrick are Mrs. Dick DeRose and her two children. Mrs. DeRose, the former Miss Phyllis Urie, is enjoying getting acquainted with her new niece, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rulan Woodbury, during her Cedar City visit. Mr. and Mrs. Ken Brown of Kaysville made a stopover visit at the home of Mrs. Brown's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Little, as they traveled to Southern California. Little Rodney Brown remained with his grandparents while his two brothers and his parents continued on for a two weeks sightseeing stay in California. Cali-fornia. Home after a two year mission for the LDS church Is Gail Miles, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Miles. Gall was met by his parents in Nashville, Tennessee, upon his release. Mr. and Mrs. Miles en-Joyed en-Joyed their trip to Nashville via Kansas City, St. Louis and Louisville. Louis-ville. The return trip to Utah was made via the southern route. Gall has accepted employment with Utah Parks Company during the summer after which he will attend at-tend school In the Fall. From Denver, Colorado, have come John, Reed and Bonnie Evans for a Summer's stay with grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Little. Guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Schmutz during the past week were Mr. and Mrs. Dean Pullins and four children of Phoenix and Mrs. Eva Coates and Mrs. Paula Hemingway of St. George. Also visiting over the week-end were Miss Jean Pun-mire Pun-mire and her father, J. R. Pug-mire Pug-mire of Logan, Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Lunt of Logan are proudly announcing the arrival of a baby girl born on June 3, in Logan. The new mother is the former Colleen Manwaring of Ogden. Paternal grandparents who are rejoicing with the new parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lunt. Enjoying the pleasant evening In the summer home of Mrs. Paul Stokes were the ladies of the Chere Amies Club. The ladies were treated to a" travelogue by Mrs. Theron Ashcroft covering the states visited last year as they traveled East. Special guest enjoying the evening with the members was Mrs. Beulah Hal-den. Hal-den. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Stokes. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Cooley traveled to Beaver to visit Mr. and Mrs. Hal Lund for a few days prior to attending a family reunion in Grantsville. A few days were spent in Salt Lake City before returning home. Entertaining at Bridge on Thursday evening was Mrs. R. C Morris Special guest for the evening was Mrs. V. J. Clove. Prizes for the evening of duplicate dupli-cate bridge were won by Mrs. Clove, Mrs. Jack Strait, Mrs. Dale Milne and Mrs. Douglas Lunt. University of Utah students are home for a period of vacationing before their employment begins for the summer. Enjoying friends! and family are Sandra Wood,! Sharon Harris, Mary Ann Campbell, Camp-bell, Alan Roberts, Bob Clark, Ray Endsley, Jerry Farnsworth and Jerry Lee. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Wynn were the guests of honor at several going away functions prior to their leaving Cedar City for a summer in Salt Lake City. Mr. Wynn's temporary plans include school next year at Stanfrd University. Uni-versity. His family plans to Join him at the California destination. destina-tion. Mrs. Wynn was honored by Mrs. E. T. Woolf and members of her club at a dinner party where special guests were Mrs. George Corry, Mrs: Jerry Davis, Mrs. Dale Milne, Mrs. Bruce Decker, Mrs. Douglas Lunt and Mrs. Claron Bradshaw. Following dinner bridge was was played with prizes won by Mrs. Richard Morris, Mor-ris, Mrs. Carl Croft and Mrs. Claron Clar-on Bradshaw. Mrs. Wynn was presented with a lovely going away gift and also a gift for the new baby. Among the Utah State University Univer-sity graduates was Lt. Ray Stephenson. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Stephenson and family traveled to Logan to witness the exercises. The following day they assisted their son and family in moving to their new home in Salt Lake I City where Lt. Stephenson will be employed by the State Poad Commission until he receives his orders from the United States Air Force. Mrs. Clair Macfarlane entertained enter-tained the H and H Club on Thursday evening. Th ladies ' enjoyed hearing Mrs. Pratt Bothers Both-ers review the book "Postmarked "Postmark-ed Moscow." The experiences of a diplomat's wife while stationed station-ed in Moscow were most interesting inter-esting and very well reviewed by Mrs Bothers. Refreshments were served by tne nostess. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Plummer and family traveled to Ogdcn last week. They attended th wedding ceremony of Mrs. Plum-mer's Plum-mer's niece and the reception that followed. The Hotel Escalante was the scene last week for a lovely luncheon which marked the opening of the summer meetings of the Reading Club. Thirteen ladies were present to hear Mrs. Hunter Nelson tell of her travel experiences to Puerto Rico and ; the Islands of the Caribbean. Special Spe-cial guests at the social function func-tion wore Mrs. Nelson, Mrs. Walt-, Walt-, er Lunt and Mrs. M. L. Christen-sen. Christen-sen. President Florence Hibi'ne was In charge of general arrangements arrange-ments with Mrs. Jennie Terry as program chairman. Mr. and Mrs. Jay Richardson are making a new home In Cedar City. They are at present with Mrs. Richardson's sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Av-erett. Av-erett. Mr. Richardson is employed employ-ed by Western Electric installing new lines for the telephone company. |
