Show City Takes Action On Matters At Council Meet The City Council meeting in regular session Thursday evening, eve-ning, June 5, in addition to adopting a program of expenditures expendi-tures for use of Class C road funds for oiling and seal coating coat-ing of Cedar City streets, also made several appointments for the 1958-59 year. Report of the disbursement of Class C road funds In the amount of $12,121 can be found In a separata story. Reappointment of six citizens to positions on boards and commissions com-missions of the city were made. The six appointments were made to fill vacancies as of July 1. They include D. C. Schmutz and Loren Whetten to the Cedar City Water Board; Fern Amend and Claudia Forsyth to the Library board, and Morgan Rollo and Francis Betenson to the Planning Commission. Council accepted the recommendation recom-mendation by the City Recreation Recrea-tion committee for the oiling of I the roadway around the Little 'League park In the recreation area east of town. The council indicated it would attempt to complete this project as soon the the major oiling program for the summer months gets under way. Also accepted was a recommendation recommen-dation for the Installation of adequate lighting on the tennis ten-nis courts on the city park. The new lighting system will be controlled con-trolled by a meter box, the mayor may-or indicated, for 10 cents per hour.
