Mel Durand,' job superintend-I superintend-I ent for Western Electric, goes over details of installation of new equipment in the Mountain States Tel. and Tel. Co. new building located at 103 West Center, with manager, Dean Williams, right and Vern Trash, supervisor for the 'southern district of Western Electric. Equipment for the new installation began arriving in Cedar City this week and a work crew of 12 men has begun the intricate pro- jecct of assembling the materials. Telephone Office Moves To New Location Dean Williams, manager of the Cedar City office of the Mountain Moun-tain States Tel. and Tel. Company, Com-pany, announced today that beginning be-ginning Monday, June 16, business busi-ness officers of the company will be located in the new building at 103 West Center Str-et. Business offices have previously previ-ously been Ival.a ai Vct Harding Hard-ing Avenue. The moving of the business offices to the new building is the first major move to the new location with final date for complete com-plete service from the new location loca-tion not scheduled until November Novem-ber of this year. This week Western Electric Co. moved 12 men Into Cedar City to begin the erection of equipment at the new building which will include new dial equipment, new toll-long distance equipment, and switchboards, along with other Western Electric will in mid-1 July reach its peak in manpower, in the installation, with approxi-. mately 40 men to complete this major undertaking. In the meantime, mean-time, Williams stated, the local telephone company will be in the process of installing outside lines to accommodate the community' on the basis of a survey which is currently being made. The business office includes a new feature, that of a depository for after hours payment. In addition ad-dition to the depository there will be envelopes available to enclose payments in. This has ben added for the convenience of customers, Williams pointed oi't. ; Hours at the new location will j remain the same daily from, R:. a. m. to 5:30 p. m. Offices ( will be closed on Sundays. The move to the new building will begin Friday. June 13 andi continue over the week end in order to facilitate the contlnu-l ance of scervice from the office on the operlng for business Monday Mon-day morning. I |
