Show PARAGON AH NEWS NOTES Sunday, May 18, Mrs. Dorotha Barton, Primary president, presented pre-sented to check for $100 to the bishop to be applied on the ward building fund. Mrs. Barton reported re-ported that the sum had been raised through various projects undertaken in the past few years by Primary officers and teachers. Saturday evening the Stake Young I adies officers entertained at a social in the Parowan First and Second Ward in honor o some of the retiring stake officers. offic-ers. Paragonah ladies especiall honored were Mrs. Idella Robin son, Mrs. Gwen Jones ara Mrs Leah Jean Boardman. A large number of young mer and their fathers attended the Stake Priesthood social at th Five Mile in Parowan Canyon last Saturday. Games, sports, picnic pic-nic supper and a program were enjoyed by all present. Mr. and Mrs. Arch Lamoreaux visited In Paragonah on Tuesday at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Irene Robinson. They were enroute to Provo after spending the winter months In St. George working In the temple. A large number of our young people participated in the Stake Dance Festival In Parowan on Tuesday evening. A dozen or so couples danced many of the couple cou-ple dances. There were two sets of the younger members In the square dancing and two sets In the "all girls" number. Many of the townspeople attended at-tended the interesting and colorful col-orful affair. Mr. and Mrs. Dewltt Jones enjoyed en-joyed a visit from Mr. Jones' mother. mo-ther. Mrs. Katie Augerson last week end. She came from St. George on Friday and remained until Monday when Mrs. Jones SCCGiTiparii-u lief Lack io Si. George. Tuesday Mr. Jones drove to St. George to bring his wife ond baby home again. A2c Larry Robb arrived home on Wednesday of last week after almost a year in French Morocco. Most of his trip home was by air. He left his base on Sunday, Sun-day, May 11, stopped over In the Azores and arrived in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. He has a 30-day 30-day leave of absence before reporting re-porting to the Davis AFB in Arizona. Ari-zona. Larry and his wife Kareen have taken an apartment in Parowan Par-owan for the month but are spending iheir time visiting relatives. rela-tives. Tney left for Henderson, Nov. on Tuesday to visit there for a few days. Alan Dai ley came home from Salt Lake City last week In order to undergo an operation. He submited to surgery at the Iron County Hospital on Friday of last week and was able to return home on Monday. He plans to return to Salt Lake City on the 26th of May as he is scheduled to graduate from the Salt Lake Area Vocational School on May 29. He has been studying radio electronics. elec-tronics. La Nel Topham left for Grond Canyon on May 15. He has em- ployment there for the summer. Mrs. Myrtle Abbott enjoyed an overnight visit in Cedar City last! week. On Wednesday she wentj to stay with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Pearl Rogers. j A number of Paragonah people attended the Stake Bee Hive graduation exercises held In Parowan Par-owan on Sunday evening. Paragonah Para-gonah girls graduating as honor Bees were Linda Rae Dalton, Janet Ja-net Hunt, Vicky Ann Evans and; Vlckl Lee Robinson. President George D. Grlmshaw' was In town Sunday to attend, the day's church meetings. I Stake high councllmen Hal Mitchell and Kendall Gurr and their wives and children were visitors at Sacrament meeting on Sunday. The time In Sunday afternoon's meeting was taken up by members mem-bers of the Aaronlc Priesthood In commemoration of the restoration restora-tion of that priesthood on the earth in these the latter days. Speakers included two boys from each quorum and a musical selection se-lection was given by Heber Lund. DUP meeting was held on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Belle Edwards. The les- son was enjoyed and the history given was of Edward M. Edwards, a native of Wales. Mrs. Edwards displayed a number of Interesting Interest-ing pioneer relics Seven young people traveled to St. George on Saturday with the Stake Junior Gleaners, Junior Jun-ior M-Men group who went for a baptismal service. They report a very satisfactory trip. Included Includ-ed in the gro- p were Helen Jean Dalton, Laura Lamoreaux, Shir-lene Shir-lene Talbot, Sherry Dawn Evans j Phyllis Robb, Kenneth Topham I and Duane Lamoreaux. Mrs. Idella Idel-la Kobinson accompanied them. Mrs. Mari'yn Bradshaw and her two younger children of Adamsville, spent a day in Para-I Para-I gonah with Mr. and Mrs. J. Leonard Leon-ard Topham. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund and family were in Cedar City Saturday Satur-day night to attend the wedding reception for a nephew Bill Maxwell Max-well and his bride. Mrs. Irene Robinson was In the Iron County Hospital again last week. She become quite ill Tuesday evening and It was thought best to take her to the hospital for treatment. She returned re-turned home on Saturday. I Miss Norma Lund and Mr. and Mrs. Keith Watters and their children were here from Spring-viiie Spring-viiie lor the week end. Keith and La Donna attended the Jaycee convention In Cedar City besides visiting here with the Willard Lunds. Mrs. Hazel Dawn Evans, Mrs. Mary Robinson and Mrs. Gwen Jones traveled to Hurricane on Thursday to attend the funeral services for Mrs. Bety Jo LeFev-re. LeFev-re. They were accompanied by Mrs. Berta Burton of Parowan and Mrs. Aurella Bauer of Cedar City. |
