Show New Committee Begins Operation The new Community Develop, ment Committee of the Cedar City Coordinating Council is now in operation, according to A. W. Stephenson, chairman. They met In their first meeting Tuesday night, May 20 at the College of Southern Utah a?:d had a very productive first session, Mr. Ste-phensen Ste-phensen reports. Cedar City is a growing community com-munity in which a lot of long range plans for building are in the making. The committee was originated with the objective of planning together on a community commu-nity basis rather than each group building separately without with-out concern for the all over good of the community. Dr. Prestwlch f the Iron County Coun-ty School Board, put it clearly when he said, "In a small community com-munity such as ours, there is only on-ly a certain amount of money available. If we spread it too thin, very little or real worth is accomplished. If we can plan together to-gether and pool our resources, working always for the best good of Cedar City, as a whole, we will have rendered a real service to our community." A. W. Stephenson, head of the business department of the College Col-lege of Southern Utah, was selected select-ed by the central committee of the Coordinating Cuncil, to serve as chairman of the new committee. commit-tee. The other members were selected se-lected by the groups they represent repre-sent and are all .key people in the community.
