Show Southern Utah Will Host Special Annual Conference. . Under the Joint sponsorship of the Five County organization andl the Utah Committee on Industrial and Employment Planning, a "Southern Utah Economic Devel-, opment Conference" will be held in Cedar City on June 11. All meetings for the day-long conference will be held in the College of Southern Utah auditorium audi-torium and residents of the five county area of Iron, Washington, Washing-ton, Kane, Garfield and Beaver have been urged to attend. Opening session of the conference confer-ence will begin at 10 a. m. and will feature addresses by S. W. Neville, chief statistician Utah Department of Employment Security; Se-curity; Ames K. Bagley, executive secretary of Utah Manufacturers Association; Jay Bingham, director direc-tor Utah Water and Power Board and Dr. Carl Frischknecht, director direc-tor of Cooperative Extension Service Ser-vice at Utah State University. Otto A. Wiesly, chairman of the Industrial Commission of Utah, will speak on the subject of "Utah is Different," at a luncheon lunch-eon meeting at Hotel El Escal-ante. Escal-ante. Afternoon speakers will Include In-clude Dr. Arthur Bruhn, president of Dixie College; Ellis Armstrong, director, Highways, Utah State Road Commission; D. James Cannon, Can-non, director Utah Tourist and Publicity Council, and W. C. Pal-freyman, Pal-freyman, program director, Utah Committee on Industrial and Employment Em-ployment planning. The southern Utah conference is an outgrowth of a similar state-wide conference which has become an annual event. |
