Show Agriculture Census For Iron 3 County Nearly Ended The 1954 Census of Agriculture is in its final stages locally and can be completed within the next two weeks if farmers will fill out their questionnaries and have them ready for the enumerator enumer-ator when he calls according to Field Supervisor, Quayle Cannon, Jr. The farm census questionnaries were mailed in advance of the start of the field enumeration for the purpose of giving farm operators op-erators time to consult their records re-cords and fill out the forms before be-fore the enumerators began their rounds. This procedure was planned plan-ned to insure greater accuracy and to save time for both the farmer and the enumerator. Com-letion Com-letion of the farm census on time will not only help in keeping keep-ing costs down but will aid in prompt publication of the results. These goals cannot be reached, however, unless farmers assist, the supervisor pointed out, urging urg-ing local farmers to fill out their questionnaries and have them ready when the enumerator calls. To date, approximately 21.000 farms have been enumerated in the 29 counties under the supervision super-vision of the local office. |
