Garments made by Maxine varied from apron to wool coat. Maxine won a red ribbon on her first exhibit at the state fair in 1919 and a blue ribbon in 1950. The next year she received a blue ribbon at the county and state fairs for a complete outfit. Her 4-11 work has taught her good Kr'(""'nKi correct posture, modeling, sportsmanship and unselfishness. Her local leader is Florence l'arker. t Henry M. Call, 17, of Hountiful, has been selected as State winner in the 1951 I'oultry Achievement program. His trip award to the National 4-11 Club Congress was provided by the Tractor and Implement Im-plement Division, Ford Motor Company. His records show that he raised 201) New Hampshire broilers this year which brought a net profit of $1'J0. Henry started winning ribbons with his poultry when he exhibited Austria white chickens in 1950 at the county and state fairs. He won a purple ribbon and second highest in the Chicken of Tomorrow Contest Con-test this year. Henry won a Sweepstakes Sweep-stakes Award at the State Fair in 195U. He has been on four poultry judging teams. He won the 1952 Trophy given by the Farm Hureau as the outstanding 4-H boy in the county. His local leader is Douglas Frazicr. Huby Larsen, IS, of Newton turned her elTorls toward making the interior of her home more comfortable comfort-able and attractive in the 4-11 Home Improvement program. State honors anil an all-expense trip to the National Na-tional 4-H Club Congress in Chicago were awarded to Kuby, by the Scars-Roebuck Scars-Roebuck Foundation. During her seven years in 4-1 1 Club work she has helped in many phases of home improvement, ranging from upholstering furniture to wood re-finishing re-finishing and painting. For her own room, Kuby chose a color scheme of green and lavender with off-white trim. One wall is tilled with built-ins. A large window in the center has a desk under it with space below for storage. She planned hanging space for long dresses and coats on one side and another side space for blouses and skirts. Her mother, Mrs. Jennie Larsen, is her local leader. Leadership and achievement in the 4-H Recreation and Rural Arts program have brought statewide recognition rec-ognition to Jeanne 1'assey , 1 8 of Price. Jeanne was awarded an all-expense trip to the National 4-H Club Congress Con-gress in Chicago, provided by United States Rubber Co. In seven years of 4-11, Jeanne has completed 40 garments, gar-ments, and has done outstanding work in Cooking and Home Grounds. She has exhibited G9 times at local, county, and state fairs, and has made eight demonstrations. Her clothing exhibits have twice won the county Dress Revue and trip to the state fair. Mrs. Omar Hunnel is her leader. Jeanne was a leader in 1953 and has been president and was secretary. " All these programs are conducted under the direction of the Cooperative Extension Service. |
