Show CLUB AI1D PARTY MUTES j Mrs. Therol McArthur Mrs. Corry Olson entertained the members of her Monday night bridge club at her home this week. She invited two special spe-cial guests, Mrs. V. J. Clove and Mrs. Evan Dobson. A new member, mem-ber, Mrs. Tom Evans, was welcomed wel-comed into the club, and prizes went to Mrs. Milton Sevy, Mrs. Evans and Mrs. Clove. I : Mrs. Henry W. Randall was hostess to an afternoon party at her home Friday in honor of 1 Mrs. Charles R. Carper of Pioche, New, formerly a Cedar City resident. resi-dent. Canasta was played with high scores going to Mrs. Irvin Ulver. Others present were Mrs. Carl Gardner, Mis. Ralph Jones, Mrs. Carl Wasmuth and Mrs. Otto Junge. Mrs. Bill Haines entertained her bridge duo at her home i Wednesday evening. Following cards a delicious luncheon was served to the members and special spe-cial guests, Mrs. Antone Lambert, Lam-bert, Mrs. R. L. Wahl, and Mrs. Dan Gillies. Prizes were taken home by Mrs. Blaine Standifird and Mrs. Lambert. The Lohoaobey Club was entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. Nelson Bulloch Thursday night at a pinochle party. Prizes went to Mrs. Ren Taylor and Mrs. Frank Milne. Following delicious "plum pudding" the Christmas j party committee was chosen to make plans for this big annual affair when the club members entertain their partners in keep-' keep-' inc with the holid.lv Paitv. Mrs. Forrest Anderson is chairman with the following committee1 members: Mrs. Grant Tucker, , Mrs. Bladen Leigh, Mrs. Leo Ca-j hoon, and Mrs. John Crabtree. The Chere Amies Club was entertained en-tertained at the home of Mrs. Paul Stokes Wednesday night. Mrs. Ianthus Wright gave a most interesting book report on "The Point of No Return." Following the review the ladies were served a dessert, and planned a dancing party for the holidays. One special guest was invited, Maureen Gassman. i The Belva Zim-i Club was en- tertained at th- home of Mrs. Austin Heywood Thursday eve-' ning. Mrs. Heywood asked Mrs.' Don Ford to come in and give a review of the book, "Freedom Road," by Howard Fast. Mrs. Ford presented this in a very interesting way, then delicious refreshments were served to the members and one special guest, Mrs. Sherwin Bradshaw . The next meeting will be the annual Christmas party at the home of Mrs. Giles Bolander. A lovely birthday dinner was held Wednesday night in honor of Gertrude Walker and Carol' Browning at the home of Beulah Stephens. Following dinner and the traditional birthday cake, Bingo was played with prizes go-, ing to Olga Beck, Willie Cope,' iAfton Hartman and Noan Tol-lestrup. Tol-lestrup. Others present were Ruby Ru-by Webster, EvaDean Milne, Lois Van Landschoot, Donna LeSuer, and Oia Smith. ' I i i Mrs. Salome Hunter was host--ess to the members o the Ami, Fidel Club at her home Friday evening. Mrs. Ardella Ford gave a delightful review of "The Real. Christmas Story," by Prof. Skou-1 san of the U. of U. A plate luncheon was served at the close' of this entertaining evening. J Mrs. Audrey Bryan entertained , the members of her bridge club at her home Thursday night. I Mrs. Court Nelson was a special guest, and also won first prize.' Others taking home prizes were Mrs. Theo Gillies, Mrs. Idonna Jackson, ar.d Mrs. Wanda Wood. Tasty refreshments were served at the close of an enjoyable evening. eve-ning. Mrs. Carolyn Jordan has as house guests over the week end her children, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ar-thur Mickelson of Redondo Beach, and Miss Marie Jordan of Los Angeles. |
