Show Largest AFROTC Summer Camp Scheduled Lt. Col. Oliver W. Harris, AF ROTC Detachment No. SC0-A. ; I Branch Agricultural college, an- i nounced today that preparation I for the largest summer camp program in AFROTC's history are i now being made at 61 Air Force Bases throughout the United States. j The bases will be the camp- j sites for the four-week programs in which approximately 17,000 cadets from 209 institutions will participate as part of their four-year four-year AFROTC training. The majority ma-jority of the cadets take the Summer Sum-mer camp training between their junior and senior years in college. col-lege. For the first time the AFROTC summer camp program will be under the jurisdiction of the newlv created Headquarters AF ROTC, of the Air University, located lo-cated in Montgomery, Ala. Last year's program was under the supervision of the Continental Air Command. For many of the cadvts the summer camp will be their first taste of military life. Processing and orientation, during which the students will be Issued uniforms uni-forms and given a complete medical med-ical examination, will take place on the first day of camp. |
