Show Cedar City Featured in Navy Publication W. F.. Thomas, local Navy Ke-, cruiter, brought unusual distinc- j tion to Cedar City during the past month when he prevailed1 on the office of Naval Procurement Procure-ment at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City to feature "his town" in the Salt Lake Recruiter, the monthly publication issued by the recruiting service. The Salt Lake Recruiter, a 21-page 21-page pamphlet, dealing usually with navy recruiting activities of the area, this month featured Cedar Ce-dar City. All but one or two pages, which carried necessary area information, were filled with stories about Cedar ( in. Featured was a history of the city, and many stories about its schools, churches, the citv ai minis'ration, services offered here, the activities of various r ! civic groups, and articles about I the leading industries and com- imercial organizations. The front cover featured a view of Cedar Breaks with a ' map of Utah and the Salt Lake recruiting area superimposed over the picture. It was a swell advertising job for Cedar City that Recruiter Thomas put over, and he deserves de-serves a great deal of credit. It was the first time that the re- cruiting service had undertaken such a promotion in its monthly-circular. |
