Show Top Ratings Won By Cedar Music Students Cedar high and junior high school students made a very commendable showing in the region re-gion solo and ensemble music contests held at Kanab last Wednesday. The Cedar City students stu-dents joined with approximately 300 students from the schools of the region in the day-long events. The event was very capably arranged ar-ranged and managed by the Kanab Ka-nab high school, host, and the people of the community. Although Al-though thi.s was perhaps the largest number of students to participate in the annual events the contests and other events ran smoothly throughout the day. Each student after performing was rated by judges, all of whom were from the Utah State Agricultural Agri-cultural college, except one, who was a retired music instructor at Logan. Rating 2: Unusual performance per-formance in many respect, but not worthy of highest rating due to minor defects in performance or ineffective interpretation. A performance of distinctive quality. quali-ty. Rating 3. Good performance but not outstanding. Rating 4: An average performance. Rating 5: much room for improvement.
