Show Wildlife Federation j Requests Duck I Creek Improvements Lawrence Misel, president of the Cedar City Wildlife Federation, Federa-tion, reports that the association will strive to have improvements made on Duck Creek this summer sum-mer that should improve fishing fish-ing at that popular stream in the future. The first request to bp made by the local group of the State Fish and Game department will be to have the dams at Duck Creek Spring and also at mirror lake sealed so that so much water wa-ter will not be lost through seepage. Similar work on the dike at Navajo Lake will also be requested Mr. Misel states. The Wildlife federation will also ask the State department to consider development of additional addi-tional ponds on Duck Creek, sim- . ilar to the pond at the Spring and Mirror Lake. Local members are of the opinion that at least two other small dams in the creek would be feasible and would provide considerable e.xtra fishing fish-ing waters and increase the carrying car-rying capacity of the stream. A request will be made that surveys sur-veys of the stream be made to determine the possibility of new-ponds new-ponds being developed. |
