Show Cedar Drops Last League Contest To Fillmore, 8 to 5 The Cedar City Junior Ameri-can Ameri-can Legion baseball team dropped drop-ped its second game to the boys from Fillmore, 8 to 5 in a loosely loose-ly played game Monday after-poon after-poon on the Cedar ball diamond. Eeaver and Fillmore are now tied for the league lead in the northern division and will hold a playoff series, probably on the Cedar diamond starting this week end. Cedar outhlt Fillmore. 6 to 4, but dropped the game in the field, committing 14 errors compared com-pared to 4 for the boys from Fillmore. Clark of Cedar fanned 10 men, while Marshall of Fillmore Fill-more was striking out 12. Cedar got 4 of its runs in the fourth Inning and one in the tilth when Clark banged out a home run. Clark also hit a double dou-ble in another time at bat. Fillmore Fill-more got one run in each of the first, second, third and fifth innings in-nings and four runs in the fourth. The next game for the Cedar team will be Pioneer Day, July 24, at 3:30 p. m. on the local diamond when they will come up against the strong Legion team from Callente, Nev. In a pievlous game the Callente nine defeated the Cedar team 3 to 0 in) a well played game at Callente. |
