Show Southern Utah Scouts Hold Sectional Camp One hundred and fifty Boy Scouts from southern Utah paraded pa-raded through Cedar City Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon Just prior to boarding trucks and buses for Navajo lake, where about 400 .'-couts are gathering for a four-day four-day sectional camp. Scouts who are1 participating in the camp are from the areas of Cedar City, Fillmore, Beaver, Parowan St. George, Enterprise and Kanab. Preparations for the parade were made by MaJ. Oliver Oli-ver Harris of the Branch Agricultural Agricul-tural college. Camp director is Max Whitney, publicity chairman for the Cedar Ce-dar Breaks district, and John L Cioss, field scout executive, is camp supervisor. According to Mr. Cross, the tamp is open during the daytime to visitors, and especially in the l evening during the campfire pro-1 grams. Skits were presented Wed-resday Wed-resday evening and programs this evening are on a district basis. Friday evening, the Pow. dei Horn post of Cedar City will present an Indian dance program, pro-gram, after which awards will be made to the scouts for camping camp-ing activities. Included in the events at the camp are camp layout, tent pitching, fire building, sanitation, sanita-tion, health and safety, food, cooking, first aid and nature trails. |
