Show I Power Company Asks for Rate Reduction Ralph R. Thomas, vice president presi-dent and general manager of Southern Utah Power Company, has applied to the Public Service Ser-vice Commission of Utah to put into effect a reduction in the company water heating rate on less than statutory notice. If the Commission approves, a reduction of U cent per KWH for water heating energy used for water heating over 100 KWH per month will become effective on August 1, and will be reflected reflect-ed in bills rendered September 1, for August service. The reduction reduc-tion will apply to the bills of ever 1350 customers of the company com-pany in Washington and Iron counties, and on the average will save each customer between SG.00 and $7.00 per year, or about 11 for water heating service based upon the usage during the past year. Thomas stated that as a result of recent favorable weather con-ditions con-ditions and early crop maturities, maturi-ties, the company had met all demands for service without interruption in-terruption of service to any customer, cus-tomer, such as was the case in 1947 and 1948. He feels that the company has experienced the maximum peak load of the current cur-rent irrigation season. i |
