Show Zion, Bryce Report Heavier Park Travel Both Zion and Bryce Canyon national parks reported heavier tourist travel during January, 1950 than had been reported for the month of January last year. Zion reported over 100 per cent increase with 3,643 persons entering enter-ing the park last month, compared com-pared to 2,153 recorded for a year ago. Cars entering the park represented rep-resented 32 states, Hawaii, Canada Cana-da and Japan. There was a total to-tal of 1,465 cars entering the park. At Bryce, there was over a 400 per cent increase as 489 people entered the park last month. On-ly On-ly 101 persons went through the park during January of 1949. Last month, 23 states, Hawaii and Canada were represented in the 147 cars which entered the park. Much of the increase this year is believed due to the mild wea-their wea-their this winter. At this time last year, record-breaking storms were hitting the intermountain west. |
