Show Ogden Gets Bid ForJ.C. Athletic Tourney The Western Division tourna. ment of the National Junior College Col-lege Athletic Association will be held in Ogden on March 2, 3 and 4, with eight teams participating. The winner of the tournament will represent the mountain states in the national tournament March 21 to 25 at Hutchinson, Kansas. The eight teams to participate partici-pate in the Ogden meet will include in-clude three from Utah, three from Colorado and one from Wyoming and one from Idaho. Boise, Idaho and Casper, Wyoming will definitely def-initely represent those two states, because those two schools are the only ones eligible for Jaycee tournament play. Weber college, winner of the northern division of the ICAC race, and host team at the tournament tour-nament will be one of the Utah teams, and the first and second place winners in the southern division di-vision will be the other two Utah schools. The Carbon Eagles are almost a certain entry in the tournament, since the Price team has a definite edge In the championship cham-pionship race, and surely would not be pushed lower than second sec-ond place. The BAC broncos are now in second place in the southern division di-vision race, and have a good chance of staying there and gaining a berth in the Ogden tournament. A double win over Dixie this week end would probably prob-ably put the Broncos in the meet. Snow will play at Wesminster this week end, and a double win there would keeD the Baderers in the race for a tournament berth. The first, second and third place teams in Colorado will represent rep-resent Colorado in the meet. The first game of the tourna-m tourna-m will be played at 5 p. m. on Thursday, March 2, with Boise meeting the third place Colorado Colora-do team. If BAC gets into the meet as second place team, the Broncos will tangle with the first place Colorado team, probably prob-ably Mesa, at 6:30 on the opening open-ing night. Weber will play Casper Cas-per in the third game, and Carbon, Car-bon, if the Eagles win first place in the southern division, will meet the second place Colorado team in the final game. After the first night the tournament tour-nament will go into championship champion-ship and consolation brackets, with two defeats eliminating any team from the meet. Season tickets for the Ogden meet will cost $3.00 each, individual indi-vidual reserve seats $1:50 and general admission $1.00. Season tickets may be obtained by writing writ-ing Weber college at Ogden. |
